Good Fishing, Bad Catching

We had a fun day yesterday going to Douglas Lake. We drove in the rain to Cracker Barrel at Exit 8 on I40. Ralph noticed a low tire on the boat trailer, and after breakfast it was nearly flat. So we changed the tire in the parking lot and went on our way toward Dandridge, TN. Now the most exciting part of the trip is driving across that long and very narrow bridge at Dandridge to get to the boat ramp. We made it safely, but always wonder what would happen if we me another wide trailer or truck?

The 115 HP Suzuki started and ran perfectly. I've never seen a outboard so quiet and smooth. Now let's fish. Well the fishing was good, but the catching was not so hot. We started in the rain, but the weather turned nice during the day, but as we were leaving thunderstorms were on the horizon. We only caught 4 crappie, that's a terrible day, but we had loads of fun.

This first picture is Doug in his straw hat. We used the dip net 3 times today, but each time it was retrieving Doug's hat from the lake. The next picture shows Ralph, he's smiling and showing off his chin strap since he kept his hat dry all day. This last picture shows me with a couple of our nice crappie from the live well.

Quote of the Day
Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish goes home through an alley.

Joke of the Day
Seems that this old couple are having trouble remembering things, so they sign up for a memory course. The course is wonderful; they come home and tell all their relatives, friends, and neighbors about it.

Some months later, a neighbor approaches the man as he tends the garden.

Neighbor: Say, Ed, what was the name of the instructor of that memory course you liked so much?

Ed: Well, it was...hmmm...let me think a minute... What's the name of that flower, you know, the one that smells so nice, but has thorns on the stems...?

Neighbor: You mean a rose?

Ed: Yeah, that's it...(shouting toward house) Hey, Rose, what was the memory course instructor's name?

HI Jim,
I wondered if you'd get caught in the rain yesterday. The fish you did get look great. Sometimes its not the fish you catch but the fun you have.
