Douglas Lake on Cinco de Mayo

Fishing Yesterday
IMG_0881We only caught 10 keepers yesterday. But one of the fish was a whopper crappie. It was 16 inches long and weighed 2 pounds. We caught it on a green hair jig with a white head tipped with a minnow. Here’s ralph holding the fish. It the biggest crappie we have ever caught.

Storm Aftermath
While on the lake yesterday we saw two pontoon boats which were partially sunken. We think these mishaps were the result of the recent storms which came raging through northeast Tennessee last week. Here’s a couple of pictures:

They say a truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour. I think maybe I am not a truly happy person.

Joke of the Day

Six-year old Angie , and her four-year old brother, Joel, were sitting together in church. Joel giggled, sang and talked out loud.

Finally, his big sister had had enough. "You're not supposed to talk out loud in church."

"Why? Who's going to stop me?" Joel asked.

Angie pointed to the back of the church and said, "See those two men standing by the door? They're hushers."
