The Birthday Girl
Kara celebrated her 10th birthday yesterday. At her party there was a lot of talk about her being in double digits. She got some really nice gifts. Her Mom and Dad gave her a new digital camera. She was snapping pictures right and left. They also set her up with her own email account. I also saw some books, some video games, a saucer chair, and some clothes. She did pretty good on the gifts, considering her birthday is so close to Christmas. We all had a great time. For refreshments we had ice cream cake, nuts, chips etc.

ew Years Resolutions
In my little survey, we learned that only 8 out of 12 planned to have any new year's resolutions. I found web sites that might help you if one of your resolutions fit into this list of the most popular. Each item in the list is a link to a site which could be helpful to you.

Google
What's blue, red, yellow, blue, green, and red?
Answer: The color of the letters in the word "Google".
Google got its name from the term googol, which is 1 with 100 zeros

When I'm away from home on a strange computer and I can't remember the URL for my blog, I Google Dads Tomato Garden. Guess what? It's the first on the list. Then I go find a link to my blog and go there. Recently, I tried Googling Tennessee Granddaddy. Guess what? It came up first in the list. I was surprised.

Quote of the Day

“People often say that, in a democracy, decisions are made by a majority of the people. Of course, that is not true. Decisions are made by a majority of those who make themselves heard and who vote - a very different thing.”
~ Walter H. Judd

Joke of the Day
Two women met for the first time since graduating from high school. One asked the other, "You were always so organized in school, Did you manage to live a well planned life? "

"Yes," said her friend. "My first marriage was to a millionaire; my second marriage was to an actor; my third marriage was to a preacher; and now I'm married to an undertaker."

Her friend asked, "What do those marriages have to do with a well planned life?"

She replied, "One for the money, two for the show, three to get ready, and four to go.
