Birthday & Snow
On Beverly’s birthday we woke up to 7 inches of snow. We wondered if we would be able to go out and celebrate. Later in the evening we decided to try it and we went to Texas Road House for a meal with Kevin, Lesley, Kara & Zachary. After the meal we came here for ice cream cake.
Let me tell you about this cake that was not a cake. Since Beverly can’t have wheat products, this cake was 100% ice cream except for the icing. The inside was 1/2 Swiss chocolate and 1/2 white chocolate ice cream. It came from the Marble Slab in Kingsport, TN. It was delicious!
They tell me a horse cannot kick when it is pulling,
and it cannot pull while it is kicking.
Is there a message in this for me? I think so.
"Action may not always bring happiness,
but there is no happiness without action."

Joke of the Day
I didn't know this about Las Vegas,
This may come as a surprise to those of you not living in Las Vegas but there are more Catholic Churches than Casinos.
Not surprisingly, many worshipers at Sunday services will give casino chips rather than money when the basket is passed. Since the chips come from many different casinos, the churches have devised a method to collect the offerings.
The churches send all the chips to a nearby Franciscan Monastery for sorting and then the chips are taken to the casinos of origin and cashed in.
This is all done by the chip monks.

Happy Birthday to Beverly...now I know what kind of cake I can have as I am deleting wheat, rye and barley from my diet to see if it makes a difference in the way I feel. Thanks for sharing.
Also, the Vegas story is so interesting especially that the church is able to redeem the chips thanks to the 'chip monks'. LOL
