Back in 1961
Fifty years ago there was a move in this country toward socialized medicine. In 1961 the Operation Coffee Cup Campaign was against Socialized Medicine. Ronald Reagan, then an actor and private citizen spoke out against socialized medicine. Listen to the following, and it makes you wonder how some of what is said may apply today. There is no video, because this was just an audio distributed by the American Medical Association.
You just wonder where all this is going. I’m hoping for a fiscally responsible improvements in medical care that rids the system of corruption while providing better and less expensive health care through our free enterprise system.
When we encounter problems in our life, we may need to change our direction, but not our destination.
~Eleanor Roosevelt
Joke of the Day
Junior had just received his brand new drivers license.
To celebrate, the whole family trooped out to the driveway and climbed into the car for his inaugural drive.
Dad immediately headed to the back seat, directly behind the newly minted driver.
"I'll bet you're back there to get a change of scenery after all those months of sitting in the front passenger seat teaching me how to drive," said the beaming boy to his ol' man.
"Nope," came dad's reply, "I'm gonna sit here and kick the back of your seat as you drive, just like you've been doing to me for sixteen years."

Amen to improvements...Bill and I are afraid to retire due to the need for insurance...but then we think,...our Lord is going to take us when He wants us, why worry? I guess we have to play it by ear. I know many a farmer, the backbone of our country, who has gone without their entire lives. God helped them, perhaps we will be helped also, so long as we remember. No one can do it for us. Like the very center verse in the Bible says about God's perfect will for our lives, "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man." Psalm 118:8
You have it right. We need to change direction, not our destination. So much for fear.
Thanks for the boot in the rear.
God Bless Us All
