Fishing

Last Friday on Douglas
P1060576Doug and I spend a long and hard day fishing on Douglas  last Friday. And it was hot! But the fishing was cool. We didn’t do very good. We dealt with trash floating on the water which made it difficult to fish where we wanted to fish. We finished with 5 keeper crappie and 5 white bass. We had a good time and we tangled with several large drum fish, and some crappie “throw-backs”. I’m holding the stringer in the picture above. That’s Swann’s Marina in the background.

But we did catch some big crappie. We had a couple over 14 inches. This picture shows Doug holding a white crappie that was 14 and a half inches long. P1060555

We hope to make at least one more trip back to Douglas Lake before starting to fish for Lake trout in South Holston and Watauga Lakes.

Quote of the Day
If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.

Joke of the Day

I’m running low on good clean jokes. I plan to share with you some cartoons for a few days.

Any fish is a good catch...especially those Crappies. What do the White Bass taste like...you boys caught some dandies. Cute cartoon...morbid, but cute. Beaver do a lot of damage in our area.
