Not Here Yet, In Our Part
The beauty of autumn is definitely on the the way. The experts are predicting a glorious array of colors. I’m hoping they are right.
I was on South Holston Lake last Friday, and the leaves are just beginning to turn as you can see in this picture.
I’m sure the above scene will change as we get deeper into October.
We had a beautiful day for fishing. You could not ask for a better day, and the fishing wasn’t bad either. While we didn’t catch any really big lake trout, we got 3 nice ones, and 2 bass, and 1 catfish. Maybe we can get back up there this week. Good days for fishing will become fewer and far between as the year goes on.
Grandmother is thinking about having a garage sale this weekend. There’s lots of work to do to get ready for it. Looks like we’ll start by cleaning out the “barn” today so we can start setting things up.

Joke of the Day
This came from a good friend based on a recent trip to Washington DC.
We were taking a guided tour of the Capitol Building & this little lady was taking us around telling a story here & there to try to liven it up a bit. We all had headphones & she spoke into her lapel microphone in a rather low, indistinct voice.
At one point she put all of us, about a dozen people, in a circle & asked what state each of us was from. The last guy next to me said he was from New York.
A little later in the tour she said most people don't know that there are two addresses at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. There is 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, which is the White House & the other is 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue SW, which is a McDonalds.
The guy from New York, without hesitation, snarled & said: "That's appropriate, they both have clowns."
