Signs of Christmas

Only 20 Days Away
Yes, Christmas is coming. The signs are all around us: Christmas carols in the stores, fruitcakes on sale, yard and home decorations, store displays, advertisements in the newspaper, etc.

Last year we received a beautiful hand painted Christmas card from my cousin Karen. It was so nice we had it framed and put it on display for the Christmas holidays. IMG_2510 Karen has a lovely blog about her art work and she is active in teaching others about painting. Check her out at Brush Strokes.

Maybe we’ll have a white Christmas for 2009? Hoping!

Joke of the Day

An American manufacturer is showing his machine factory to a potential customer from Albania. At noon, when the lunch whistle blows, two thousand men and women immediately stop work and leave the building.

“Your workers, they’re escaping!” cries the visitor. “You’ve got to stop them.

"Don't worry, they'll be back," says the American. And indeed, at exactly one o'clock the whistle blows again, and all the workers return from their break.

When the tour is over, the manufacturer turns to his guest and says, "Well, now, which of these machines would you like to order?"

"Forget the machines," says the visitor. "How much do you want for that whistle?"

This is Tennessee Granddaddy testing the comments. I have made some changes to keep spam from being posted. I hope it works.
