Volleyball, a Dog & a Goat, and Barbie

I think you may wonder what in the world I’m talking about when you read the title to my blog today. Well, I’m just rambling about some different things which have absolutely nothing in common.

Volleyball
Last night we went to the last volleyball game of the season. We have enjoyed very much watching the games and seeing our Granddaughter, Kara, play and learn about the sport. She is a talented volleyball player, and this could be the sport for her to excel.

Here’s a couple of pictures from last night. The one on the left shows her preparing to serve, and the other shows her with the trophy she received.

Good Friends – A Dog and a Goat
You may have heard about the Dog and Goat that the animal shelter has in Bristol, Virginia. It’s certainly interesting and unusual that two such different animals have such a strong bond between them. If you have not read the news on this story, you might live to view this video.
It’s happening less than 20 miles from where Granddaddy hangs his hat.

Here in East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia we don’t have many things happening that get us on the big news channels. But it looks like the dog and the goat made the cut.

Barbie
Did you know that Barbie turned 50 this year? Yes, and someone sent me a picture of her. I hope you’re ready for this…

Seeing Barbie reminds me that I need to get back on my diet and exercise routine.

Don’t Forget!
Next Sunday (May 10) is Mothers Day.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

It would be better to think first, then speak.

You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you are going, because you might not get there.

Joke of the Day

An elephant is drinking out of a river when he spots a turtle asleep on a log. The elephant ambles over and kicks the unsuspecting turtle clear across the river.

"Why did you do that?" asks a passing giraffe.

"Because I recognized it as the same turtle that took a nip out of my trunk 47 years ago."

"Wow, what a memory!" says the giraffe.

"Yes," says the elephant. "Turtle recall.”
