Joke of the Day

So this little girl comes home right? And she goes to daddy and says "I'm never going to school again."

So the Dad replies "why??"

She exclaims "because my teacher said 5+5=10, 6+4=10, 7+3=10 ,8+2=10, and that 9+1=10!"

He again says "and your point is???"

She screams "SO SHE NEEDS TO MAKE UP HER MIND!!!"

From America’s Attic

Pictures From 1939-1943
Take a trip back in time and see some astounding pictures that reflect America’s past. The picture are the property of the Library of Congress, which were used in 2006 exhibit. The colors are magnificent, and the memories they bring are moving. Here’s an example:

How to Wash a Toilet -- This was simply too much of a time saver not to share it with you.

  1. Put both lids of the toilet up and add 1/8 cup of pet shampoo to the water in the bowl.
  2. Pick up the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.
  3. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close the lid. You may need to stand on the lid.
  4. The cat will self agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from the toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this.
  5. Flush the toilet three or four times. This provides a 'power-wash' and rinse'.
  6. Have someone open the front door of your home. Be sure that there are no people between the bathroom and the front door.
  7. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift the lid.
  8. The cat will rocket out of the toilet, streak through the bathroom, and run outside where he will dry himself off.
  9. Both the commode and the cat will be sparkling clean.

Sincerely,
The Dog

In Green Bay

On TV
I received the following note with two pictures of the stands at a football game.

“This is what ESPN failed to show on Monday night - 11/14/2011!!! Apparently they thought their commercials were more important than showing this scene for about 5 seconds!”

That’s pretty. It’s a shame they did not show it. Many thanks to our military and our veterans. We appreciate your sacrifices!

Joke of the Day

Dear Son,

Your Pa has a new job. The first in 48 years. We are a little better, off now, getting $17.96 every Thursday. So we up and thought we'd do a little fixin’ up. We sent to Searers for one of them there bathrooms you hear so much about and it took a plumber to put it in shape.

On one side of the room is a great big long thing, something like the hogs drink out of, only you get in it and wash all over. Over on the other side is a little white thing called a sink, this is for light washing, like face and hands, but over in the other corner we really got something.

There you put one foot in, wash it clean, pull a chain and get fresh water for the other foot. Two lids come with the darn thing and we ain't had any use for them in the bathroom, so I'm using one for a bread board and the other we framed grandmother's picture in.

They were awful nice people to deal with and they sent us a roll of writing paper with it.

Take care of yourself son.

Your Maw

Stand for the Pledge

I Pledge Allegiance
I have a great love for this great country of ours. When I was in school they taught us many things that seem to be missing today. They taught us to respect the flag, to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance, to respect our elders, to be fair and to be accountable for your actions.

There’s a good message in the following:

SemperFe

The Pledge

I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG, OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA , AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS, ONE NATION UNDER GOD, INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!

Your Taxes

Here’s An Example of What Our Taxes Support
Watch this and note the guy’s attitude. Entitlements are ruining the country!

Remember this when you go to the polls in November.

Joke of the Day

A customer was bothering the waiter in a restaurant. First, he asked that the air conditioning be turned up because he was too hot, then he asked it be turned down cause he was too cold, and so on for about half an hour.

Surprisingly, the waiter was very patient, he walked back and forth and never once got angry. So finally, a second customer asked him why he didn't throw out the pest.

"Oh, I really don't care or mind," said the waiter with a smile. "We don't even have an air conditioner."

A New Year

Well, I Have to Say It,

Happy New Year

Are you tired of hearing it yet? I just wondered. It seems like we got lot of email telling us Happy New Year. I’m grateful for that. Then every cartoon in the comics has said Happy New Year. And the newspapers have said Happy New Year, etc. No doubt about it, 2012 is here. Now we live go on and live our life in a new year.

Lot’s of people have reviewed what happened in 2011. but I’m going to tell you what will happen in 2012.

  1. The United States will have a Presidential Election, and there will be lots of mud slinging from both sides. Obama will be re-elected and the country will continue its decline. (Sure wish I am wrong on this one.)
  2. We will have some bad storms, including both tornados and hurricanes in the USA. There will other natural disasters in other parts of the world. The liberals will blame man-made global warming and maybe George Bush.
  3. Death and taxes will continue as the two things we cannot escape. The USA will continue to move to increase entitlements while reducing medical care for seniors. Very likely the country will have a crisis with China about the country’s debt.
  4. The earth will experience some earthquakes and volcano eruptions. Damage will be severe and lives will be lost.
  5. There will be much unrest in the middle east. The bombs will continue to blast in Iraq and Afghanistan. There will be no peace. The Iran situation will escalate.
  6. The new leader in N Korea will test his power and set off a critical situation with Japan.
  7. Babies will be born and life will go on. Unfortunately family life will continue a decline.
    . etc.
    . etc.
    . etc.

I’m getting discouraged, so I’m going to quit here. Not a pretty picture is it? Sounds bleak, but it could be worse.

Just remember to put God first in your life, live one day at a time, pray for the world leaders, enjoy your life, your family. Remember life is a gift. That is why they call today the “present.”  A good motto for the new year:

“Make the Most of Every Moment”

Joke of the Day

Story from a Kansas State Highway Patrol officer :

I made a traffic stop on an elderly lady the other day for speeding on U.S. 166 Eastbound at Mile Marker 73 just East of Sedan, KS. I asked for her driver's license, registration, and proof of insurance. The lady took out the required information and handed it to me. In with the cards I was somewhat surprised (due to her advanced age) to see she had a conceal carry permit. I looked at her and ask if she had a weapon in her possession at this time.

She responded that she indeed had a .45 automatic in her glove box. Something---body language, or the way she said it---made me want to ask if she had any other firearms. She did admit to also having a 9mm Glock in her center console. Now I had to ask one more time if that was all. She responded once again that she did have
just one more, a .38 special in her purse. I then asked her what she was so afraid of.

She looked me right in the eye and said,
"Not a dad-blamed thing!"

Great News!

Granddaddy’s Going To Be a Great Granddaddy!
How about that? We’ve known this for a little over a week, but had to wait to make the announcement.

Mandy called and gave us the news, that she is expecting and the baby will be due sometime in July, 2012. We are very excited about this big event in our family!

I was thinking about when Grandmother was finishing up her college degree, I told people that I slept with a Coed. Now I’ll have to tell them I sleep with a Great Grandmother! Times change…

My Dad’s excited also. He’ll be a Great Great Grandpa!
